Career Studies Building Services has invested a substantial amount of financial resources to create a cutting edge Practical Skills Work Shop designed to replicate real life work situations using industry standard equipment and has been designed especially to be conducive to learning.

This includes a fully certified Welding and Fabrication area for Sheet Lead weathering assessments. This equipment will enable students to improve their welding skills and understand the different types of welding methods for a range of materials.

We have dedicated multipurpose student work stations that offer students the opportunity to familiarise themselves with trade equipment, utilise new technologies and also offers place for students to study worksheets and diagrams.

As a part of our Practical Skills Work Shop we have setup many training bays for practical study, which will enable students to install a fully functioning bathroom which will simulate the typical working bathroom you would find in any home across the country. We have the facility to train you on how to understand and manage plumbing services to current industry standards.  

Each of our multipurpose student work stations has been equipped with a full complement of hand held equipment to aid students in practical work applications. The tools selected for CSBS meet all current requirements for all practical purposes and legislation and all of our students will be trained on thecorrect usage as a part of their studies. 

Also built into the Practical Skills Technical Work Shop is out fully functioning cylinders for domestic hot water storage (Atmospheric) and an attached tank to replicate domestic hot water storage systems. Students will learn how to install, maintain and decommission these installations safely and efficiently whilst working in line with the current industry requirements

Self contained Sheet Lead Weathering and Roofing apparatus uniquely designed to replicate real life elevated working situations. Students will be given the opportunity to learn about roofing systems, understanding drainage, materials and weather protection systems.
